Sam qualified as an NZPGA Professional in 2011 and joined the North Shore Golf Club in 2015. Over the last ten years, Sam has become a well-renowned coach in New Zealand and continues to have a large following of students.

Sam’s coaching model suits a wide range of golfers, emphasising body movement to increase longevity in the game. Learning from 3D biomechanists and medical professionals, Sam has enhanced his knowledge to adapt his coaching skills. Sam has access to some of the best practices for all aspects of the game.

Sam enjoys helping players of all levels achieve their goals and adapts programs to suit each individual. One of his strengths is in his ability to transform juniors from “having to play golf” to loving golf. Sam’s passion has turned several young athletes into professional players who achieve on the national and international scene.

Bevan grew up in a town called Waimate in the South Island and moved to Auckland in 2000 to work at a driving range in Swanson. When he was about 15 years old, Bevan started playing golf with a neighbour. Living only a kilometre from the course, he got hooked. Bevan would bike to the course every day after school, pulling his trundler along behind him.

Bevan has a background in playing at both the top amateur level and professionally, having played for Aorangi, North Harbour, Huapai Nobilo Pennants. A highlight for him was winning the Auckland Strokeplay Championship in 2004. From 2004-2006 he played in several qualifying schools around the globe being Australia, Asia and Canada. A highlight of Bevan’s short professional career at this stage was finishing 13th in the Fiji PGA Championship. 

Through playing professionally in his early years, Bevan learned a lot about himself and life in general, gaining experiences money cannot buy. He also gained PGA Trainee of the Year 2022 in the third and final year of his traineeship. Bevan believes it is time for him to pass on his knowledge for the improvement and upskilling of your game. 

Bevan offers on-course coaching, shot-making, how to get out of trouble on the course using various shots (which he loves), short game strategy, full swing, and more. Bevan also speaks and can understand the Korean language. 

Bevan gets great satisfaction from watching the improvements of those he coaches.
