Bevan grew up in a town called Waimate in the South Island and moved to Auckland in 2000 to work at a driving range in Swanson. When he was about 15 years old, Bevan started playing golf with a neighbour. Living only a kilometre from the course, he got hooked. Bevan would bike to the course every day after school, pulling his trundler along behind him.
Bevan has a background in playing at both the top amateur level and professionally, having played for Aorangi, North Harbour, Huapai Nobilo Pennants. A highlight for him was winning the Auckland Strokeplay Championship in 2004. From 2004-2006 he played in several qualifying schools around the globe being Australia, Asia and Canada. A highlight of Bevan’s short professional career at this stage was finishing 13th in the Fiji PGA Championship.
Through playing professionally in his early years, Bevan learned a lot about himself and life in general, gaining experiences money cannot buy. He also gained PGA Trainee of the Year 2022 in the third and final year of his traineeship. Bevan believes it is time for him to pass on his knowledge for the improvement and upskilling of your game.
Bevan offers on-course coaching, shot-making, how to get out of trouble on the course using various shots (which he loves), short game strategy, full swing, and more. Bevan also speaks and can understand the Korean language.
Bevan gets great satisfaction from watching the improvements of those he coaches.

North Shore Golf Club offers junior coaching programmes for both junior members and non-members alike; everyone is welcome.
Our junior programme is led by NZPGA Certified Professional Coaches Jacques Nortje and Sam Parsons, two of the best and most passionate junior coaches in New Zealand.
They are both highly trained professionals and have over 25 years of combined junior golf coaching experience between them.
Aspiring junior players do not need to be club members to be involved in our programmes. We offer programmes for kids from the age of 5 and cater for all skill levels, from beginners through to aspiring elite players. Our philosophy is simple: to have fun and create a love for the game. If we create joy for juniors through golf, we believe they become more coachable and stand a greater chance of staying engaged in the game for life.
Our junior programme and club offering includes boys and girls development programmes, casual/beginner programmes, school holiday programmes, group and individual lessons, on course playing programmes, and the North Shore Junior Academy. The Academy’s objectives are to identify, encourage, and support pre-elite level golfers who are members of the club, by offering them assistance in the pursuance of their golfing ambitions. This assistance is in the form of additional coaching and player support options that greatly assist players along their developmental journey.
North Shore Golf Club has a proud and decorated history in producing many Harbour and New Zealand representative players.
